Our History

Crimeline was founded in 2004 by Chuck Whitlock, a leading authority on identity theft and fraud. In his travels as a consumer advocate, author and investigative reporter Chuck eye witnessed the financial and emotional toll placed on fraud victims. He also saw the frustration of law enforcement professionals as they struggled to stay ahead of fraudsters, scam artists and their ever changing tactics.

Chuck knew that law enforcement needed better tools in their arsenal to make a dent in the alarming spread of identity theft and fraud. Traditional text-book and online training methods lacked the real-life stories, street-proven techniques and dynamic expert insight needed to provide a truly valuable and engaging learning experience. A more innovative, dynamic and interactive training experience was urgently needed. Chuck started Crimeline with this in mind.
